Microsoft to Release 9 Security Updates, Four Critical for February 14th Patch Tuesday

Microsoft will issue nine security updates, four critical, for Patch Tuesday tomorrow, fixing 21 vulnerabilities in Windows, Internet Explorer, .NET, Silverlight and Office. Seven of the nine may lead to remote code execution, while the other two may lead to elevation of privilege, according to Microsoft’s advance notification bulletin Published: Thursday, February 09, 2012.

For the first time, patches for the newer Windows 7 operating system will outnumber those of the older XP operating system, which Microsoft is phasing out of existence.
